Review: “Real Meal Revolution”

The latest best selling cookbook, “The Real Meal Revolution” is co-authored by Tim Noakes, professor of Sports Science from UCT, two chefs, David Grier and Jonno Proudfoot, and clinical nutritionist Sally-Ann Creed to produce a cookbook that promises to change your life by teaching you how to take charge of your health by changing the way you eat.  According to Noakes consuming too many carbohydrates is the cause of many lifestyle diseases (obesity, diabetes, etc.) and he therefore believes that one should consume fewer carbohydrates than fat.  It looks like the tagline on the book “Changing the world, one meal at a time” is an indication of how revolutionary this way of eating really is as it is certainly turning the food pyramid we all know so well on its head!

In excess of 40 000 copies of the book has been sold since it’s recent release.  If you don’t have a copy yet, you might battle to find one because bookstores are selling out fast!

I have tried all the recipes in the book, and I can vouch that they not only look mouth-watering, they are mouth-watering!  If you are planning to change to a low carb, high fat (LFHC) lifestyle, but cannot cook to save your life, or simply need some inspiration, contact me for details of my tailor-made cooking lessons – they take place in your own kitchen!
