The well-known Col’Cacchio pizzeria recently included a Banting-friendly pizza range on their new summer menu. When customers countrywide started asking for ‘low-carb, high-fat’ dishes á la the Banting eating plan, the Col’Cacchio pizzeria food development team was put to work and their brand new Banting pizza range now joins their vegetarian, vegan, wheat- and gluten-free options, and complements other Banting-friendly salads and antipasti on the menu. The low-carb, high-fat pizzas feature a smaller base (21cm) made from cauliflower, psyllium husks, egg, parmesan and seasoning. It is served with a Banting-style side salad of lettuce, carrots, cucumber, egg, parmesan and radish.
Five of Col’Caccchio pizzeria’s favourites are now available on the new Banting base:
– Margherita – tomato, mozzarella and herbs
– Regina – ham and mushroom
– Foresta – salami, black mushroom, garlic, green pepper and feta
– Nacho Libre – jerk spiced chicken, home-made guacamole, tomato chilli salsa, coriander and sour cream
– Morituri – seasoned chicken, bacon, avocado, feta and roasted red pepper
In addition to the exciting new Banting pizza range, Col’Cacchio pizzeria’s new summer menu offers customers innovative new antipasti dishes, delightful salads, pizzas, desserts and summertime cocktails.
A few helpful facts about their banting-friendly meals:
- Their banting-friendly pizzas are served as a meal: on a smaller base with a side salad. They are not your traditional Col’Cacchio pizzas – the portion size is smaller and the bases are not crisp like their standard pizza bases
- All their banting pizzas are served with a side salad of lettuce, carrots, cucumber, egg, radish and fresh parmesan. Please note that radish is on the banting green list and carrots are on the orange list.
- The ranch dressing is banting-friendly because they use only extra virgin olive oil in the recipe.
